Windows: Microsoft AppLocale Bugs

Problem:
After Applocale is installed, you might see invalid characters when you try to install other MSI packages or programs via InstallShield (or any other Windows Standard Installer). This is caused by the cache settings in AppLoc.tmp.

Solution:
1. Browse to the following location:

C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\

2. Open AppLoc.tmp with Notepad
3. Remove all the content and then save the file
4. Right-click on AppLoc.tmp, select Properties
5. Mark it as Read-only
